City of Armstrong Kicks Off Emergency Preparedness Week with
Alertable App Reminder and Scheduled Test on May 6

Armstrong, BC – As part of Emergency Preparedness Week (May 4–10, 2025), the City of Armstrong is reminding residents and visitors to be proactive and prepared by connecting to Alertable, the City’s official emergency notification system.

To mark the week, the City will conduct a test of the Alertable system on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM. This test is an opportunity to ensure you are receiving notifications properly and that your preferred contact methods are set up correctly.

Alertable is a multi-channel alerting platform that allows users to receive time-sensitive information about emergencies such as wildfires, floods, severe weather, and other hazards. Notifications can be delivered through various different channels including:

• Smartphone app (recommended)
• Text message
• Email
• Phone call
• Website
• Social media
• Home smart speakers

“Emergencies can happen in seconds. Being informed and prepared ahead of time can make all the difference,” said Warren Smith, Manager of Community Services. “We encourage everyone to sign up for Alertable and participate in our system test on May 6.”
