PROPOSED COUNCIL AND COMMITTEE PROCEDURES BYLAW NO. 1957, 2026

Pursuant to section 124 of the Community Charter, notice is hereby given that, at its Regular Council Meeting on September 21, 2026, at 5 p.m. in Council Chambers, Council of the City of Armstrong will consider first, second and third readings of Council and Committee Procedures Bylaw No. 1957, 2026.
The proposed bylaw would repeal and replace the current City of Armstrong Council Procedure Bylaw No. 1839, 2019.
The proposed changes include:
- Meeting procedures and schedules: Updates to Council meeting schedules, locations, agenda deadlines and order of business.
- Public participation: Clarification of provisions respecting public enquiries, delegations and petitions.
- Council bodies: Expanded provisions respecting Committees, Commissions and other Council bodies.
- Electronic participation: Updated provisions respecting electronic participation in open meetings.
- Council member requirements: Updates respecting attendance, meeting absences and conduct.
- In-Camera meetings: Clarification of attendance by non-City representatives at In-Camera Meetings.
- Housekeeping and modernization: Updates to terminology, statutory references, formatting and other procedural provisions to improve clarity and reflect current City practices.
