Commercial Structure Fire on Pleasant Valley Boulevard South
Armstrong, B.C. — In the early morning hours of July 15, 2026, the Armstrong Spallumcheen Fire Department responded to a commercial structure fire on Pleasant Valley Boulevard South. The fire directly impacted three local businesses: Wild Oak Café, Twisted Purl Yarn Studio, and Great Wall Chinese Restaurant.
Due to the scale of the incident, firefighters from neighbouring fire departments responded through mutual aid to assist with fire suppression efforts. The City of Armstrong extends its sincere appreciation to all firefighters, emergency responders, RCMP, City staff, and supporting agencies whose professionalism, dedication, and coordinated response helped bring the incident under control. The City would like to specifically acknowledge the assistance provided by the Enderby Fire Department, BX Swan Lake Fire Department and Vernon Fire Rescue Services which sent equipment and personnel. Their support exemplifies the strength of mutual aid partnerships and the commitment of emergency services to protecting our communities.

While the loss of these businesses is significant, I am incredibly proud of the professionalism, dedication, and courage demonstrated by every responder on scene.”

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the appropriate authorities.
