Campfire Restrictions are Changing - Effective at Noon on September 3, 2026
Effective at 12 noon on September 3, 2026, Category 1 campfires will be permitted in the City of Armstrong.
This decision is consistent with the BC Wildfire Service’s decision to lift the campfire prohibition throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre, which includes the City of Armstrong.
A Category 1 campfire is a campfire that is no larger than 0.5 metres wide by 0.5 metres high.
Please note: Restrictions on Category 2 and 3 open burning, fireworks, and other higher-risk activities and equipment remain in place.
If you’re planning to enjoy a small campfire, please continue to use caution and follow all applicable provincial and local regulations. A few extra minutes of care can go a long way in helping prevent wildfires and keep our community safe.
