Street Banner Program

Street Banner Program

In February 2014, the City of Armstrong in partnership with the Spallumcheen Armstrong Arts Council Society (SPARC) put out a Call for Artists for anyone in the community to submit design ideas for the 2014-2016 Decorative Street Banners that are displayed in the City.

Over 50 submissions were received from Highland Park Elementary, Pleasant Valley Secondary School, Kare-A-Lot Early Learning Centre, and from adult artists.  Council chose four designs that represent submissions from a daycare for 3-5 year olds, from an elementary school, from the high school, and from the adult category.  These chosen designs are featured above.

The City of Armstrong also put out a Call for Sponsors for the banners.  Businesses had the opportunity to contribute $250 which entitled them to have their business name appear on a tail attached to the banner.  These sponsorships helped offset the cost of the banners and each business will receive two banners at the end of the 2014-2016 season.

We thank everyone for their participation in the Decorative Street Banner Program and for the artistic talent of our community!
